Now, Amstel Quartet celebrates 30 years of revolutionizing the saxophone quartet genre with a program featuring the music which made them famous. ‘Amstel Anniversary’ highlights the musicianship, range, and stylistic authenticity with arrangements of modern minimalist works by Nyman and Glass, reworkings of unlikely pieces from the Classical and Baroque era, a pinch of standard saxophone quartet repertoire, along with works written for Amstel which have since become saxophone quartet repertoire.
